Cumbria gift company Herdy visited Westmorland General Hospital on the 75th birthday of the NHS to launch a new product range raising money for Bay Hospitals Charity.

The Kendal-based business has created a special collection including a tea towel, greetings card and mug featuring 'Herdified' NHS workers to mark the milestone anniversary.

Bay Hospitals Charity, which raises funds to support patients and staff at University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust, will receive a donation for every sale of the souvenir range.

Sally Proctor, Social Media and Comms Manager for The Herdy Company, said: "At Herdy, we believe in giving back to our local community. That's why we’re proud to support our local NHS trust with the launch of our special edition NHS mug, tea towel, and 'Thank Ewe' card. Each purchase from the collection helps raise funds for The Bay Hospital Charity.

"It's our way of saying thank you to those who dedicate their lives to our well-being. Visiting Westmorland General Hospital on the 75th anniversary allowed us to witness the NHS's invaluable impact on our community first-hand, reinforcing the importance of supporting our healthcare heroes.

"It's important to acknowledge just how precious this institution is to everybody in the UK. Whether you're a healthcare worker, a patient, or the loved one of someone in their care, we all have a connection to the NHS.”

Bay Hospitals Charity funds the latest equipment for University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust to help make patients more comfortable and ensure they get the best possible care and treatment.

Head of Charities and Fundraising Suzanne Lofthouse said: “We’re so grateful to Herdy for their support for the NHS and Westmorland General Hospital as the service marks its 75th anniversary.

“This partnership between Bay Hospitals Charity and Herdy links two organisations with a shared commitment to Cumbria and the people who live in our communities.”
