Volunteers are being recruited to help raise funds to support patient care at Furness General Hospital. 

Bay Hospitals Charity is looking for volunteers from in and around Barrow to assist with a wide range of tasks and activities. 

Head of Charities and Fundraising Suzanne Lofthouse said: “We know that Furness General has a special place at the heart of the community, and we’re looking for volunteer team members who share our passion for helping to support the hospital. 

“There’s a chance for our new volunteers to get involved in lots of different tasks, from helping us build contacts in the community to supporting with the day-to-day running of the charity and getting involved in our events and fund-raising activities. 

“Becoming a volunteer is a great opportunity to get involved in interesting and varied volunteering work while doing something amazing for your local community.” 

Bay Hospitals Charity exists to support University Hospitals of Morecambe Bay NHS Foundation Trust, and shares the Trust’s commitment to strengthening the diversity of its team.  

Applications for volunteer roles are encouraged from likeminded people who support inclusivity, and the charity is particularly keen to hear from people from protected groups.
