Last month the Medical Unit 2 Charity Champions Danielle Worden, Michelle Stansfield and Lisa Walker have really gone above and beyond for their patients, who each received a thoughtful Christmas gift.

Danielle, Michelle and Lisa were delighted to receive the Trust’s Star of the Month award in recognition of their work to go above and beyond for their patients.

Lisa said, “We are humbled and grateful just to have been nominated for the Star of the Month, but are absolutely thrilled to have been chosen as the winners. Our aim was that patients didn’t feel they had been forgotten on Christmas morning.

Our team worked on this initiative throughout the year, raising the funds to enable us to purchase the items, pricing up and shopping for the gifts, wrapping them, and then of course delivering the presents to the wards.

Although we do this without expecting anything in return, this award and the thank you card we received from a patient make all the time and effort we put into this feel even more rewarding.”

Christmas delivery time!

Charity Manager Judith Read said, “Our Charity Champions do an absolutely incredible job, going over and above to fundraise for those extras that make all the difference to patients. We are so thankful to have such a dedicated team working with us all across the Trust.”
