15 month-old Oliver Goodings has a rare condition called Vacterl association. This involves a variety of conditions including chronic kidney disease and spina bifida, which has meant that Oliver has spent a significant part of his life in Furness General Hospital Children’s Ward.
As a thank you for the care Oliver has received, Oliver’s family organised a Family Day at Duddon Sports and Social Club. Eight bands played music throughout the day and they also had a tombola, raffle and face painting, raising a fantastic £1,250 for the Children’s Ward at Furness General.
Mum Holly said “The money raised is a huge thank you for the amazing care provided for Oliver and many other children in the local area. It is very scary when your child is in hospital, but the staff on the Children’s Ward, in particular the lovely nurses, always provide the support, care and empathy for the whole family, making it much more bearable.”
