The Tour de Furness 2020 looks a little, well, different. But though we can’t make the ride together, you can still enjoy the classic cycle routes or choose to take part from your home exercise bike – and you can take part any time this September, at a time that suits you.

As well as being a good way to keep fit – not easy during lockdown – taking part in the Tour de Furness is the perfect way to say a big Thank You to your local NHS.

See below for more information on the traditional tour routes. There are options suitable for everyone, with magnificent scenery on each of the 5, 13, 23 or 50 mile options.

5 mile route

The ideal choice for families with small children, mainly taking place on cycle paths along the picturesque coastline, and including refreshments at the halfway point.

13 mile route

Perfect for family groups or the leisure cyclist, this route will take you along dramatic areas of coastline and through the beautiful ‘Vale of the Deadly Nightshade’ where you’ll also find the ruins of Furness Abbey.

23 mile route

Recommended for the more experienced leisure cyclist, you’ll take in the magnificent Furness coastline and make your way through miles of attractive countryside, including the ancient ruins of Furness Abbey.

50 mile route

For confident cyclists, this route takes in some of the most beautiful scenery in Cumbria, travelling along the coast road to Ulverston and around Coniston Water.  We’ll be getting competitive… will you?

To register, visit the Tour de Furness 2020 website and choose ‘Option 2: Thank You NHS’. Once your registration is complete, please email Heidi at the Furness General Charity Office or call on 01229 404473.
